Contextualization
The states were continuing to get more and more imperialistic and industrialized with Seward's Folly, and New Imperialism with the Spanish-American War caused by jingoism seen in the foreign policy. The US became a world power controlling territories all across the seas. The progressive era sweeps through the nations with reforms for women, children and African Americans. This era also exposes important issues in the conditions of workers and the upkeep of factories with the increased industrialization. Deteriorating relations in Europe quickly develop into a world war where in alliances begin to form and the US take the neutral stance until the Zimmerman Telegram invokes nationalism in the States and a war declaration is made.

P - TR was a trust buster and used the big stick to take down the trusts that opposed him and the people of the US. P - TR was portrayed as using this big stick policy to intimidate trusts and get them to back down before her took serious measures such as killing them completely. |
H - The people of America did not advocate the entering of the war until the Zimmerman Telegram was said to be taking away what was rightfully theirs
P - The US was capitalistic at the core and when it came to the war effort almost any precaution was necessary to take. P - To expose the two sided nature of the US entering the war only when their liberty is threatened, but not when other allied nations are endangered. |
H - By men, women's push for suffrage was seen as a waste because women were to fulfill their roles as a Republican Mother and take care of domestic matters not to be out voting in the polls. Women, however would do anything to get their suffrage.
P - They believe that women's suffrage is something that women would do anything to accomplish in the long run P - To convince the viewer that women's suffrage was fought for by women and they were "crushing" the opposition whenever one did oppose their progression. |
